Hardcast, Inc. was founded in 1965 by rock and roll singer/songwriter Boyd Bennett. He spent the next 18 years building Hardcast, Inc., which manufactured duct/sealing tapes, mastics and related adhesives for the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry. Acquired in 1987 by the Carlisle Corporation, Hardcast's products have grown to include an outstanding line of adhesives, sealants, caulks, sealing flashing, and repair tapes for roofing, building construction and repair. Today the Hardcast brand continues to flourish by enabling its customers to achieve greater efficiently, while lowering costs.

In 1995, Carlisle Corporation acquired Quaker Sealants and Coatings Company, headquartered in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, just outside of Tulsa with a second plant in Fontana, California. The Sapulpa facility manufactured waterproofing membranes, hot-applied liquid membranes and roofing underlayments, while the Fontana plant produced deck coatings for pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Hardcast and Quaker were merged to form Carlisle Hardcast Incorporated with headquarters in Sapulpa. The Hardcast name had become so well established that it remains as a brand name and represents the link to the original company.

In 1998, Carlisle Corporation acquired Hardcast Europe located in Weesp, Holland, which was previously an affiliated licensee. In the fall of 1999, Carlisle Hardcast moved its corporate headquarters to the Hardcast plant in Wylie, Texas.

In January of 2000 Carlisle Hardcast acquired Dyn Air, Inc., located outside Montreal, Quebec Canada. Dyn Air is a designer/manufacturer of duct hardware and accessory products for the HVAC industry. The DynAir brand product line includes items, such as: flexible duct connectors, damper regulators, air turning vane assembly systems, access door hardware, and insulation fasteners.

In the spring of 2001 Carlisle Hardcast broke ground for its new facility in Wylie and began the initial planning to consolidate its domestic operations. This consolidation was completed in February 2002.

Values

Superior Customer Service
We succeed in business at the will of our customers. Every transaction will be handled with such an urgency as if all future business depends on it, because it does. We commit to exceed customer expectations through anticipation and response to their needs in an attentive, trustworthy and resourceful manner.

Safety
We commit to our employees to establishing an environment where operations can be accomplished in a safe manner. We will not knowingly put any of our employees in an unsafe working condition. While we are committed to be in compliance with all regulations in this regard, that will only serve as the minimum on which we build.

Teamwork
We believe that cooperation and collaboration between individuals produces a result far beyond the combined abilities of those individuals. We are committed to an organization where functional boundaries disappear in the effort to attain company objectives.

Trust
We believe that as we are honest with others and keep our promises, we develop an unshakable level of mutual respect and trust that does not question the motives of co-workers. We are committed to ethical conduct in every transaction; a standard to which we hold one another accountable.

Cost Reduction
We will be unyielding in our efforts to responsibly (no deterioration to product function or service level to customer) reduce the cost to supply our products and services. We do so with the knowledge that in our predominant markets, failure to achieve low cost manufacturing status will be synonymous with exit from the market.

Growth and Development of People
We are committed to being more than just a “place to work”. We will provide the opportunities (educational and job experience) for individuals to use and embellish their individual gifts; enabling them to develop an improved skill set that can be used in the context of personal and organizational improvement. We believe that the greatest competitive advantage is having the best talent in our industry.

Profitable Growth
Understanding that standing still is neither possible nor desirable in business, we are committed to profitable sales growth. We believe that our existing and adjacent markets offer this opportunity both through organic growth and through acquisitions that serve to consolidate fragmented industries and create a competitive advantage.

Results-focused
We are driven to meet and exceed our corporate commitments for sales and earnings. We believe that this only occurs as we target continuous improvement of processes and systems that support our customers and their needs. Hard work is an admirable trait, but has maximum value as it yields desirable results.
